Monument symbolizing Yerevan in deplorable condition

While the Yerevan mayor and different district governors promise to impart a new appearance to the capital city, emphasizing the importance of maintaining symbols, the monument on the Yerevan-Sevan highway came under photo reporter Gagik Shamshyan’s camera focus.

The major symbol of Armenia’s capital is buried in waste and dirt, with numerous notes on its walls discrediting the city and its residents, including the officials giving generous promises.

The photo reporter is hopeful the competent bodies will turn a special attention to the monument.
