Youth Orchestra of Armenia not to perform in Baku

The Youth Orchestra of Armenia is not giving a concert in Azerbaijan, press service of the orchestra told Tert.am, dismissing the media outlets’ information about their participation in I, CULTURE Orchestra international classical music project slated for August 24-September 2.

The concert tours are to take place in Lublin, Warsaw, Minsk, Kiev, Chisinau, Tbilisi and Baku.

“The concert scheduled in Baku will not take place as the Azerbaijani leadership has not guaranteed the safety of Armenian musicians. Not only Armenian musicians but the whole group refused to depart for Baku,” press service reported.

I, CULTURE Orchestra project has been created in 2011 by Adam Mitskevich University.
 

The two-week long event in Lublin includes master classes by world leading orchestras.
