Russian artist Karen Avanesian amazes audience with his Moonlight sonata performance on duduk (video)

Recital of Russia’s honorary artist of Armenian decent Karen Avanesian took place a day before in Blagoveshensk town, Russia’s Amur region.

Representatives of the Armenian community, guests gathered in the hall to have fun with one of the stars of “Distorting Mirror” humorous program, portamur.ru reports.

Among the guests were spouse of Amur region’s governor Irina Kozhemyako, head of the Amur branch of Union of Russian Armenians Artur Kazaryan.

The humorist presented new program not shown on TV yet. All the jokes were voiced with characteristic Caucasian accent. “I am often being asked why I present Caucasian humor. But it will be very funny to present jokes in Estonian with my appearance,” the artist said.

Avanesyan made parodies on Vakhtang Kikabidze, Vassili Livanov, Armen Jigharkhanian, Roman Kartsev. Thanks to his talent the beloved artists Yuri Nikulin, Mher Mkrtchyan and Vladimir Visotski “revived”.

However, he finally amazed the public with music: unexpectedly, he performed Beethoven’s Moonlight sonata on Armenian national music instrument – duduk.
