London hosts concert to celebrate Armenia’s Independence Day

The St. Yeghishe Church of London hosted on Saturday a concert-evening dedicated to the 21st anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s press service, the event was organized by the Armenian Community and Church Council of Great Britain, under the aegis of the Armenian Embassy to the UK.

Armenian Ambassador Karine Ghazinyan and the Council’s president, Ara Palamudyan, welcomed the participants.

Dr. Nerses Nersesyan delivered a short lecture devoted to the Armenian culture and literary art. The primate of the Armenian Diocese of Great Britain and Ireland, Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan, later addressed his blessings to the crowd.

The concert program included classical works by Armenian and European composers. The participants also watched an episode from the documentary film Matenadaran.
