Armenia nominates If Only Everyone film for Oscar (video)

Armenia selects drama as foreign language Oscar entry, writes British Screen International. The source says the film is If Only Everyone.

SI writes, “Natalya Belyauskene’s If Only Everyone will fly the flag for the Eurasian country and its North American premiere screening will close the Arpa International Film Festival in Los Angeles on Dec 1.”

The film tells about Karabakh war and its consequences. It has won Golden Apricot awards in 2012. Speaking to Tert.am, head of the Armenian National Cinema Center Gevorg Gevorgyan confirmed the information. The film has been chosen as Oscar entry by Armenia’s National Academy of Cinema. The US Cinema Academy will either confirm or reject the application on October 8.

By the way, Russia has selected a film by the Russian-Armenian producer and screenwriter, Karen Shahnazarov, for Oscar’s Best Foreign Language Film award. The film The White Tiger is a drama about war.
