Australian singer Lisa Bell to give benefit concert in Armenia

Australian opera singer Lisa Bell is going to give a benefit concert in Armenia to assist children suffering from leukemia and other serious diseases.

Her initiative has received a high welcome by Armenia’s first lady, Rita Sargsyan, who is the chairwoman of the Donate Life charity organization’s trusteeship board.

The singer herself previously suffered from cancer and had great difficulty defeating the disease. Before her to trip to Yerevan, Australian Prime Minister Julia Guillard has an address, characterizing the singer an accomplished personality whose great talent has pleased lots spectators and whose private life has given courage to many.

Highly appreciating her country’s friendly relations with Armenia, the Australian premier says that they have a powerful and successful Armenian community which truly takes pride in its ethnic origins and the long-lasting struggle for Armenia’s freedom.
