Armenian composer Eduard Mirzoyan dies

The renowned Armenian composer, teacher and public figure Eduard Mirzoyan had died at the age of 91.

Chairman of the Union of Composers of Armenia Robert Amirkhanyan confirmed the information to Tert.am.

Eduard Mirzoyan is a representative of Armenian music school who wrote classical compositions which brought fame to the composer and honor to the country.

Eduard Mirzoyan was born in Gori, Georgia, on May 12, 1921. In 1941, he graduated from Yerevan State Conservatoire. In 1940 he started his work. In 1965, Eduard Mirzoyan was appointed Professor of Yerevan State Conservatoire.

He is author of numerous compositions – songs, romances, overtures, cantatas, a symphony and sonatas.
