Youth tourism development project to be launched in Armenia

A pilot project of child and youth tourism development is expected to be launched in Armenia.

“We discussed tourism development in Armenia with the rectors of the Russian International Academy for Tourism (RIAT) and Armenian Institute for Tourism, Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Territorial Administration of Armenia and agreed to launch a child and youth tourism development project, Viktor Krivopuskov, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Armenia, told journalists on Tuesday.

“We plan to launch our first project in Vaiots Dzor, where historical and natural monuments,” he said.

“We plan to submit this issue for discussion at the next regional cooperation forum in a few days to organize a year of Armenian-Russian youth tourism,” Krivopuskov said.

Both Armenia and Russia will benefit from exchange of high and higher school students, he added.

“We have reached a preliminary agreement with the Transaero airline, which can be the first air carrier to be involved in the program. Of course, we plan to involve the South Caucasus railway,” Krivopuskov said.

“We are sure that the scientific expedition will produce results soon,” he added.
