Armenian state theatre lifts entrance fees for Syrian-Armenians

The Armenian state theater Hamazgayin (pan-national) will not charge entrance fees from Syrian-Armenians during this theatrical season (2012-2013).

In a statement it says that the decision was made in consideration of the community’s present circumstances.

“Any Syrian citizen of Armenian descent can get a free performance ticket by submitting an identity document. The Hamazgayin theatre’s group is also making its contribution to the project Help Your Brother and calling upon all the theatres and cultural groups to assist in the project,” reads the statement.

The Hamazgayin theatre has been founded by the merited Armenian actor, Sos Sargsyan, who is also its artistic director.
