Bako Sahakyan issues greetings to International Poetry Festival participants

President of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan has issued an address to the participants of the International Poetry Festival which opened in capital Stepanakert on Monday.

The full text of the address provided below:

“Dear friends,

I am glad to welcome all the participants and guests of the international poetry festival.

We attach a major importance to the idea of holding the festival in Artsakh and are pleased to host renowned poets from world’s different countries on the ancient Armenian land.

The Armenian culture among the world’s oldest and richest cultures, as it always assigned a unique role to the art of poetry. Talented Armenian writers created valuable pieces, which have become treasures of not only the Armenian but also world poetry.

And today too, pursuing the important mission of creating, preserving and developing cultural traditions writers inspire their native people with their works, educate and bring up generations instilling in them both national and universal values.

The NKR authorities highly appreciate the role of writers and literature are ready to do their best to assist in its development. Within this very context, we highlight the importance of holding such events in our republic, as it also is a good opportunity for establishing new ties and making Artsakh recognizable to the world.
