Armenian opera singer Arax Mansurian performs in LA

World-renowned Armenian opera singer Arax Manrourian and her student Lisa Bell (Australia) have given a benefit concert at the Los Angeles Armenian Consulate General.

According to a press release by Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, the event attracted US-Armenian music lovers, art critics and foreign guests.

Speaking at the concert, Armenian Consulate General Grigor Hivhannisyan declared the singers’ plan to travel to Armenian for a benefit concert to be held under the patronage of First Lady Rita Sargsyan. The proceeds of the event will go to the treatment of children suffering from cancer.

The Australian soprano’s plan to visit Armenia was hailed by the country’s prime minister, Julia Gillard.
