Armenia to participate in World Skills International Competitions Leipzig 2013

Armenia will for the first time participate in the World Skills International Competitions Leipzig 2013.

Tatevik Gasparyan, Director of the National Centre for Vocational Education and Training Development (NCVED), told journalists on Friday that Armenia’s representatives will participate in jewelry, fashion and cookery competitions.

“21-22-year-old students can participate in the competition. The qualifying round of the national competition is scheduled to October 24 to 26. Three best participants will be selected. Experts will train them for the next six months,” she said.

A number of businessmen are sponsoring the Armenian team’s participation. Vahagn Hovhannisyan, Head of the Education and Training Department, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia, said that World Skills International is well-known throughout the world.

“This year we do not have the right to struggle for medals. But we can participate in different categories,” he said.

Representatives from 63 countries will participate in the World Skills International Competitions Leipzig 2013.
