Archaeologist: Armenians contributed to Ani’s destruction (video)

Samvel Karapetyan, the president of the fund studying the Armenian architecture, tells about a recent pilgrimage to the historical Armenian city of Ani in a recent video.

The archaeologist says that the watches of the ruined museum-city, which is now on Turkey’s territory, surrounded their group once they knew they were from Armenia and asked them to find a way to stop the explosion of a stone mine on the opposite side of the Akhuryan river.

Karapetyan describes what he calls the slow retreat of the underground city.

“This is a trump card for the Turks,” says Karapetyan who showed two photos taken in that period.
