Tsereteli’s statues portraying EU founders unveiled in France

Talented Georgian-Russian artist Zurab Tsereteli’s sculptors portraying the four founders of the European Union have been unveiled in the French city of Metz.

According to Euromag, the bronze statues of Robert Schuman, Alice de Gasperi, Konrad Adenauer and Jean Monnet were erected outside Schuman’s house museum.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the local authorities, Russian diplomats, artists and other guests, as well as the author.

Tsereteli’s earlier sculptors for France include those featuring the famous Russian poetess Marina Tsvetaeva, Pope John-Paul II and 19th century French novelist Honoré de Balzac for france.
