Armenia’s Voice music project to launch in Armenia in November

The Armenian variant of the Voice international music project Armenia’s Voice will start on Armenia TV from November.

Producer of Armenia’s Voice format Vahe Ohanyan said it will differ from the international format with a unique approach to it. Ohanyan said the only criteria of the selection will be the strong vocal.

Explaining the rules of the contest, the format's producer said unlike other such like projects, the selection will be made not by a jury, but by 4 “coaches.”

These coaches will listen to the songs without seeing the performers and will assess only the voice. They form their teams by the participants who will pass the pre-selection round.

The musical producer of the project, singer Hayko, said the pre-selection round has already ended. He said the participants are quite talented and extraordinary.

“It will be an interesting show and we hope that we will reveal many interesting talents during this contest,” he said, adding that according to the project’s rules the pre-selection round was not broadcasted as the “coaches” must not see and recognize the participants.

The “coaches” – Arto Tunjboyajian, Tata Simonyan, Sona and Sofi Mkheyan – were present at the news conference.

Arto Tunjboyajian said he is happy to be involved in the project, voicing hope that it will be an international show. He said he participates in such projects for the first time.

The project’s broadcaster Rafael Ghazanchyan noted that it is not just a regular project. “It is the first big scale and high quality project,” he said.

According to the project’s rules, in the first round jury members cannot see the participants, but only hear their voices. In case two or more coaches select a participant he/she selects with which member he wants to continue the fight.

In the next round jury members continue working with the selected participants, improving their musical skills. During the contest two pupils of each coach perform the same song. The stronger stays, the other leaves the contest. The winner in the final is being selected by the audience. The winner signs a one-year contract with Universal music group company, which will pave a way for world’s biggest stages.
