Return classical music festival’s closing concert to be special

The ceremonial closing of the Return classical music festival will take place on October 31 in Aram Khachatryan concert hall.

The concert will be dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Amalya Bayburtyan. The concert program includes works of Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Shopen, Mozart, Ravel, Corea.

Israel-based world famous pianists Vahagn Papian and Boris Giltburg will perform at the event.

Speaking to reporters today, one of the founders of the festival Mariam Shahinyan said the festival is becoming better from year to year with the full halls and warm reception of audience testifying it.

Vahagn Papian said the concert has a special format. “In the first part each of us will perform as soloist while in the second duet with two pianos will perform. Besides, this time we have brought to life our early intention to present both classical and jazz music. This time jazz works will be presented,” the musicians said.

Papian said no improvises should be expected as they are classical musicians.

Boris Giltburg said he is in Yerevan for the first time and wants the Armenian audience like him.

The festival launched on September 24.
