Armenian church set ablaze in Aleppo

The St Gevorg church in Aleppo’s Nor Kyugh district was set ablaze on Monday.

Speaking to Tert.am, a spokesman for the Armenian prelacy of Beirut, Jirayr Reisian, confirmed the information.

Earlier reports about the burning church were denied. But the construction today is under terrorists’ target and almost reduced to ashes.

Reisian said that the Mesrobian Armenian school, located adjacent to the church, has been seriously damaged too.

An earlier blast in the vicinities of an Armenian district of Damascus had reportedly left 10 people dead and around 50 (including Armenians) injured.
