Armenia’s Culture Minister receives Iranian dramaturges

Armenia’s Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan received today chairman of the Iranian Union of Dramaturges Mohammad Amir Yarahmadi and members of his entourage. Among them were writers, critics, dramaturges, journalists, translators.

According to the ministry’s press release, chairman of Armenian writers union Levon Ananyan and members of the union attended the meeting.

The culture minister stressed the Armenian-Iranian relations are on high level and referred to the joint literary-cultural programs, literature translating programs that contributed to the creation of the “Armenia-Iran: Literary bridges” program and ensured strong platform for the reciprocal visits and implementation of joint literary programs.

More than 40 books have been published and a number of works have been translated as a result of Armenian-Iranian  cooperation.

Poghosyan also referred to the joint programs of Armenian and Iranian publishing houses, saying that Iran’s Afraz and Armenia’s Apollo publishing houses will soon publish Contemporary Armenian Poetry book that will include the works of 12 Armenian contemporary writers.
