16-year-old Armenian aerialist wins prize at Circus Future international festival

Hasmik Manucharyan, a 16-year-old aerialist from Armenia, who performed ‘Air Rhapsody’ at the 6^th international festival of youth circus companies, schools and performers Circus Future in Lugansk, Ukraine, Nov. 4, won the special prize Viewers’ Sympathies.

Fifty companies from Russia, Ukraine Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Holland, Germany, Poland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland and the United States participated in the festival.

Director of the Lugansk state circus Dmitry Kasyan awarded the Armenian performer.

Hasmik Manucharyan is a student of the Yerevan circus studio after Leolid Yengibarov. Her performance, which was prepared under the guidance of her trainer Gnel Sargsyan, brought her a victory at the 6th Delphic Games in Yerevan, Armenia, in 2010.

“Hasmik’s victory allows us to nominate her for participating in the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo in 2013,” said Sos Petrosyan, Director of the Yerevan Circus.
