Inter-state council on printing art opens meeting in Yerevan

An inter-state council dealing with the press, publishing and dissemination of books and promoting cooperation in printing art among the CIS member states opened its 12th session in Yerevan on Tuesday.

The two-day meeting has brought together delegations from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Russia, as well as representatives from international organizations.

Greeting the participants, Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan said that their books have received serious awards at international contests for the fourth consecutive year.

She praised the cooperation among the member states, highlighting the importance of exchanging books. “The participants actively use the book exchange funds and also have an opportunity to exchange bibliographic knowledge,” Poghosyan noted.

The minister said that the participants of today’s session will approve a document for regulating a range of issues related to the transportation of books from the CIS states.
