Armenia’s report to be presented at UNESCO on government’s agenda

The agenda of the coming cabinet sitting includes the draft bill on approving Armenia’s periodical report over the status of elements included in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO and application of its Convention on Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The attached document says that on March 20, 2006 Armenia’s National Assembly adopted the decision on ratification of UNESCO’s convention of October 17, 2003, with it assuming commitment on conduction of events for the implementation of the convention.

The decision of adoption a draft protocol stems from the Article 29 of the mentioned convention, according to which the participant countries should periodically present reports to UNESCO on the adoption of legislative and other legal acts for the implementation of the convention.

The G sector of the report presents “Duduk’s music” and “Art of Cross stone: the Symbol and Cross Stone making” included in the UNESCO list.
