Youth Orchestra of Armenia, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi to give concert

The State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (SYOA) plans to begin its 2013 concert series with a premiere on January 13.

World-famous Italian accordionist and bandoneónist Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi and the SYOA will perform Martin Palmeri’s ‘Sobre Las Cuatro Estaciones’ (Four Seasons), SYOA Artistic Director Sergey Smbatyan told journalists on Thursday.

Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi said that the concert program – compositions by Nino Rota, Roberto Molinelli, Enrico Blatti and other world-famous composers – has been worked out jointly with SYOA.

“A most emotional and varied program, with most of the compositions to be performed in Armenia for the first time,” Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi said.

He also plans to give one concert a year in Armenia. “My first visit to Armenia was during the Golden Apricot festival,” the performer said.

“Contacts with the Youth Orchestra are important to me,” Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi said. He also noted Armenian audience’s enthusiasm.
