Armenian great actor Vladimir Abajyan dies at 86

Armenian merited actor and people’s artist Vladimir Abajyan has passed away after a long disease.

He was aged 86.

The Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre has confirmed the news to Tert.am.
 

Abajyan, who was widely known as a master of reciting art, was born in 1926 in the Shirak village (Shirak region). Upon graduation from the Yerevan State Institute of Theatrical Art (currently Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography) he started his career at the Sundukyan Theatre. He is best known for his roles in such performances as “Destroyed Home” (Sundukyan). Thirteenth President (Abdulin), For the Sake of Honor (Shirvanzade) etc.

Abajyan also played in feature films.

As a reciter, he performed the poetry of medieval, classical and contemporary Armenian writers.
