Armenian poet Hovhannes Grigoryan passed away

Armenian poet, secretary of Armenian Writers’ Union Hovhannes Grigoryan died in the morning today of grave and lasting disease. Chairman of the Union Levon Ananyan confirmed the information to Tert.am.

He said a governmental committee will be set up to organize the poet’s funeral. Additional information will be provided later.

Hovhannes Grigoryan is author of eight collections of poems, of which the last one published in 2010 was entitled Never Die – This is what I’ll tell you.

Grigoryan has also translated a number of works from Spanish and Russian languages.

He received a number of state awards.
