Armenian singer Gor Sujyan to perform Lonely Planet at Eurovision (video)

Singer Gor Sujyan’s song Lonely Planet has been selected to represent Armenia at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden.

Sujyan will perform the song together with his musical band, Dorians.

The song was selected through a live SMS voting and a 50/50 jury.

Four songs - Lying, Toy Planet, No time and Lonely Planet- were performed at the Saturday show.

“There are four songs and we have no preferences. The winning song is the preferable one, ” Sujyan’s manager, Ara Tadevosyan, told Tert.am on Saturday when asked which of the songs the singer has a special preference for.

Sujyan was born in Armenia in 1987. He completed his secondary education in 2004 and in 2006 he began signing for different musical clubs in Yerevan, performing songs by world-renowned musicians. Since 2008, he has been the soloist of Dorians. Together with prominent musicians, he has taken part in different musical programs in Armenia and abroad, winning different awards.

Sujyan was declared the best singer of year at Armenia’s 2011 musical award ceremony. The 26-year-old singer was selected as Armenia’s 2013 Eurovision participants earlier this year.

Armenia has taken part in Eurovision since 2006. The first singer to represent the country was Andre, who won the 8th place at the contest.
