Online Armenian Genocide museum launched

Ahead of the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the American Memco Inc. company has launched an web museum allowing visitors to commemorate the victims of the big tragedy online.

By accessing the website, visitors will be able to lay flowers on the Genocides memorial and conduct a tour of the Museum to have a look at documents, photos and other materials bearing testimony to the heinous crime.

All visitors will have to do is to download a web application enabling their access to the memorial complex and the Museum. While conducting their tour, visitors will be offered to listen to music performed by the Komitas Quartet.

Speaking of the project, Memco Inc. President Karen Melikyan said he came up with the idea as a US-Armenian man who cannot visit Yerevan museum every year to pay tribute to the Genocide victims.

“By creating an online Genocide museum, we sought to enable those our compatriots in Armenia and abroad, who do not have an opportunity to be physically present at the commemoration events, to visit Tsitrernakaberd too to pay respect to the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide,” he said.

The online project is the US company’s donation to the Genocide Museum-Institute.
