Malmo hosts Eurovision 2013; Armenian band performs at No. 12

The Eurovision 2013 Song Contest kicked off Saturday night in Malmo, Sweden, featuring representatives from 26  countries.

This year's participants are from France, Lithuania, Moldova, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Estonia, Belarus, Malta, Russia, Germany, Armenia, the Netherlands, Romania, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Hungary, Denmark, Iceland, Azerbaijan, Greece, the Ukraine, Italy, Norway, Gerogia and Ireland. 

The Armenian rock band Dorians, with its song Lonely Planet (written by Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi), has perfomed at number 12 at this year's contest. 

The band qualified for the final round at the Thursday semifinal which featured 10 countries. 

The first semifinal was held on May 14.

Representatives from six countries - France, Italy, Spain, UK and Sweden - have joined the 20 states which succeeded in the semifinals.
