Montserrat Caballé’s Yerevan concert not cancelled, says orchestra head

The the Armenian Youth Orchestra's director has dismissed the reports about plans for cancelling world-renowned Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballé’s scheduled concert in Yerevan

Speaking to Tert.am, Sergey Smbatyan said the concert will take place on September 9, as was previously announced.

It comes after reports in the international media said the singer has cancelled several concert tours on account of throat problems.

Smbatyan, whose orchestra is going to accompany the opera singer, said they are not yet aware of the concert repertoire.

“We are not aware yet, as she is arriving six days before the concert and is make a final decision two days in advance,” he said.
