John Travolta receives Crystal Globe award at Czech film festival

His performances in classic films such as Grease and Pulp Fiction have put him on the map. And as time passes, John Travolta continues to make his mark in the entertainment industry, The Daily Mail reports.

Celebrating his outstanding contributions to world cinema, an international film festival in the Czech spa town of Karlovy Vary bestowed its Crystal Globe awards on the actor, as well as director Oliver Stone.

Travolta received his award on Friday, the opening day of the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
Expressing his gratitude for the award, the 59-year-old actor was snapped smiling as he gave his speech.

Looking sharp, Travolta was wearing a black suit with a navy tie, as he styled his brunette hair back and showed off his goatee beard.

Stone has to wait for the final day, July 6, as the festival runs from June 28 to July 6.
Fourteen movies are competing for top honors, including A Field in England directed by Ben Wheatley, and U.S.-Swedish production Bluebird by director Lance Edmands.
