Eurovision 2015: Armenia changes slogan to rule out political motives

The band Geneology which represents Armenia in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest has adopted a new slogan to bring its objective more in line with the event’s format.

It has replaced the originally adopted “Don’t Deny” with the slogan “Face the Shadow” to rule out any political context behind its participation.

The slogan was selected as a special message to strengthen the idea of peace, love and unity, reports the Armenian Public Television’s press service.

Geneology represents six ethnic Armenian singers from five different continents. Their joint participation in the annual pan-European song event is thought to be very symbolic in the year marking the Armenian Genocide centennial.

Eurovision 2015 is set to take place in Vienna, Austria from May 19 to 23. “Building Bridges” is the selected slogan for this year’s song contest.
