'Diplomatic front is our top concern': Pashinyan introduces new foreign minister
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday stressed the extremely important need to step up the activities on the diplomatic front as he visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to introduce the agency's newly appointed chief.
Thanking the outgoing minister, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, for his accomplishments over the "difficult period", the premier admitted that the diplomatic burden "increases along with the reduced overload in the military".
"I hope in that respect that the newly appointed minister will manage to consolidate the diplomatic corps to centralize it on our national and state affairs. I am hopeful that Mr. Mnatsakanyan,, who enjoys a great respect and reputation in the sector, will offer his best possible assistance to those efforts," he said, considering the diplomatic front a top priority at the moment.
Pashinyan also stressed the importance of the right formulation of problems. "Everything must be analyzed to draw the necessary conclusions. And we must not be afraid to be bold when addressing those conclusions and severe with ourselves to come out as a stronger side," he added.
Ara Aivazian was appointed a foreign minister on Wednesday, November 18, two days after Zohrab Mnatsakanyan's resignation.
