Armenia is turning into ruins at the hands of the current regime, second President Robert Kocharyan said in Spitak today, blaming Nikol Pashinyan’s government for a failure to promote the redevelopment of the town.

“I have come up with just one question: if nothing was in Spitak for over three years now, how do they dare at all to come here today to conduct a demonstration with appeals for getting your vote of confidence? Can anyone explain to me if they have enough conscience to do so?” he said during the pre-electoral rally of his political team.

“Are you ready to vote for those people? Do you happen to know that there is no city or town in Armenia which we left untouched [by reforms]? Armenia is now turning into ruins at the hands of today’s governing team,” the leader of Armenia Alliance added.

The former president said he trusts his memory enough to remember what Spitak looked like during his tenure and what activities were carried out over the period to recover the town from the ruins of the 1988 devastating earthquake.
