The joint statement signed by the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia in Washington is a document regulating interstate relations.

The activities of "Western Azerbaijan" community are public activity aimed at ensuring the right of human rights and return on international conventions. In this regard, the community's activities have no direct connection with the Interstate Relations and Peace Agreement. This was announced by the President of the so-called "Western Azerbaijan" community, MP Aziz Aleckerli.
