Hovhannes Tumanyan is example of total devotion to his country and people, President said

"Hovhannes Tumanyan is an exceptional phenomenon both in our literature and in social and political life. I am confident that each generation of the Armenian people should not only read Tumanyan and enjoy it but also learn lessons from a person whose biography is an example of total devotion to his country and people," President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said in Dsegh today on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of Hovhannes Tumanyan.

In his speech devoted to the all-Armenian poet Serzh Sargsyan noted that by an interesting coincidence Armenia celebrated today the Vardanants feast. "I congratulate the Armenian people on this occasion," said President of Armenian adding that the Avarayr battle had been presented to the generations in the course of many centuries as the best example of national identity and adherence to freedom.
