Leaving far from homeland is not reflected in my works - Alexander Sadoyan

Leaving and creating in Los Angeles, far from Armenia, is no way displayed in the works f the Armenian artist Alexander Sadoyan.

Speaking to Tert.am, Sadoyan said he believed that regardless the place of residence each artist should create and have something to tell the world.

A vivid example of that, according to him, are his best oeuvres made abroad.

Considering himself an abstract-expressionist, Alexander Sadoyan is currently trying to paint the portraits of the Armenian outstanding personalities, starting from Grigor Narekatsi and ending with Sergey Parajanov and Paruyr Sevak.

“With my colors and my style I am trying to unveil their characters, their essence,” Sadoyan explained.

Speaking of the Armenian artists, Sadoyan said that they are as good as foreign artists, adding that, unfortunately, there are no “special people, professionals” who would be able to present the Armenian art to the world.

Alexander Sadoyan is a member of Artists’ Union of Armenia since 1990.

Since 1995 has is also a member of the UNESCO Artists’ Union.

Sadoyan has been awarded with various certificates and prizes. He was awarded with the “Best Artist of the Month” title at the Berlin World Art Celebrities in 2003.

The American Kennedy Publishing house recognized him as “Best Artist.”

Alexander Sadoyan’s works have been published in several prestigious newspapers and catalogues.
