Many come to theater to watch shows – Rafael Kotanjyan

The number of those people who want to watch plays at the theaters has been on the decrease, famous Armenian theater and cinema actor Rafael Kotanjyan has said.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Kotanjyan said that instead the number of people who want to watch a show at the theaters has increased.

“Unfortunately, our good audience is gradually decreasing,” said he. “Those watching theatrical plays have diminished; those watching shows have increased.”

According to him, today the theater is visited mainly by the elders.

However, Kotanjyan said he does not want to underestimate the youth, as he has always supported them in their attempts to create anything new.

“It turns out there is a vast layer of the society that is waiting for anything good, pure,” said Kotanjyan.

Rafael Kotanjyan has played a lot of roles both in plays and in movies.

For about three years now he has been playing in Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theater featuring a role in a play by Gurgen Khanjyan.
