German-Armenian writer publishes book on Karabakh

A German-Armenian children’s writer has written an adventure novel based on the myths about the Avetaranots village in Karabakh.

The original of the “Isaac and the Mazes of the Old Castle” by Marina Looze was written in Russian, but due to her decision the Armenian version was published first.

“It was my greatest desire that this book be read first by Armenian children, and therefore we published the Armenian version first,” said the author.

Marina Looze also said she would like the book to be published in Russian, English and German.

The Armenian version, which has been published in 500 copies thanks to the author’s own funds, has already been distributed to Armenian children.

“A lot of people give presents to Artsakh [Karabakh]: some give money, some build houses or streets, and I decided to make a special present to the children of Artsakh - to give them a colorful child story,” she explained.

Further, she said that it would be easier for her to introduce the book to the entire Europe, if it received recognition in Armenia first.

She also said that the first volume will have continuation.

“I have already started writing, and it will be more joyful, more interesting and more useful,” she explained.
