Armenia to host contest for string instrument masters

Philip Buckman, the president of the French association Culture and Cooperation, has arrived in Armenia to organize a contest for string instrument masters.

The event is scheduled for September. The winner will be offered education opportunities in Europe. The contest will be conducted by the association's masters who will arrive in Armenia from France. Young people below the age of 30 are eligible to apply. Musical education is not compulsory. Applicants should have experience in working with wood.

A similar program has been organized in Brazil, Algeria, the Balkan countries, Tunisia and Mexico.

The contest in Armenia is being sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the French Embassy in Yerevan.
