Armenian musician recognized best violoncellist in International Tchaykovsky Competition

A renowned Armenian musician has been recognized a winner in the International Tchaykovsky Competition.

Narek Hakhnazaryan, together with four other musicians (each representing Italy, Germany, Belarus and France) has won the best violoncellist award in the contest. The second and third prizes in this category were awarded to representatives from France and Belarus, respectively.

Hakhnazaryan, who won the first place, will be awarded 20,000 euros.

It's noteworthy that Daniil Trifanov who was recognized a winner in the best pianist nomination was the apprentice of Armenian musician Sergey Babayan, who teaches at the Cleveland Music Academy.
