Azerbaijan and Turkey haven't yet applied for Junior Eurovision

Azerbaijan and Turkey are not in the 12 states that have applied for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 to be held in Yerevan on December 3.

At a press conference on Thursday, Grigor Nazaryan, the music producer of the contest, said that so far 50 songs have been submitted, while applications from participant states are still being accepted.

"Armenia must perform with dignity and quality, especially given the contest will be held in Yerevan. The quality of presentation is a priority," he said.

The deadline to submit songs was expired on July 20 but the admission commission will be operational till August 20 given the holiday period, he added.

Gohar Gasparyan, the head of the Armenian delegations of Eurovision, in turn, said that Armenia will do it best to prove that it can ensure each participant security.

"We will prove that we are able of ensuring a peaceful and joyful week for each participant," she said, adding that currently a security plan is being designed for the purpose.

Among the countries that have already applied for participation in the contest are Georgia, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
