Sayat Nova\'s Armenian poetry in Georgian

A presentation of a new book by the well-known poet and translator Givi Shahnanazi (Gigusha Shahnazaryan) was held at the Library of the Georgian Parliament, in Tbilisi, on July 30.

The presentation attracted many people of different ages, as well as representatives of the local Armenian community and Georgian public. The book contains Armenian poetry by Sayat Nova and its Georgian translations.

A richly illustrated hardback book has been published with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia and the Hayartun cultural center of the Georgian diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. In his congratulatory address, Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan said that the presentation, which attracted so many intellectuals, is another proof of centuries-old good-neighborly Armenian-Georgian ties.

Chairman of Georgia's Union of Armenian Writers Gevorg (Zhora) Snkhchyan and the well-known culture expert Keti Tomaradze shared bishop Mirzakhanyan's opinion.

Chairman of the Hayartun center Levon Chidilyan thanked all the sponsors. Each of the attendees received a copy of the book signed by Givi Shahnazari.

The book was edited by Gayane Bostanjyan, with computer design by Goga Davtyan.
