No Silence initiative concerned over Armenia's heritage

The No Silence youth initiative has issued a statement re-addressing the problem of preserving historical and cultural monuments in Armenia.

In commenting on a statement by Vahran Melikyan, Head of the Information Department, Mother See, as well as on the response by the Armenian Ministry of Culture, the organization states that either the Ministry of Culture or Mr. Melikyan is "lying, turning a blind eye to the problem of preserving the Armenian people's historical heritage."

Meanwhile, "throughout Armenia's territory, our centuries-old holy places are falling to ruins," says the statement.

The organization has prepared a slide show of the monasteries and churches "on the brink of ruin" for people to see what heritage the Armenian people is going to lose, the statement says.
