Russian town to host Tariverdiev Organ competition

An International Organ Competition in honor of Mikael Tariverdiev, a prominent Russian composer of Armenian descent, will be organized in Kaliningrad, Russia between August 6 and 11.

More than 60 musicians from Germany, France, Italy, the United States, Czech Republic Russia and other countries have been invited to the event, the Russian news agency ITAR TASS reported, citing the director of Kaliningrad's philharmonic orchestra.

The winners of the first Tariverdiev competition will also attend the concert.

The international competition has been organized every two years since 1999.
