Armenian producer to stage original Carmen in Russian city

Carmen, an opera by Georges Bizet, will for the first time be staged in French in Perm, Russia, Sept. 14.

The Yerkramas newspaper, published by the Armenian community in Russia, reports that Georgy Isahakyan, the former art director of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater and Russian State Prize winner, is producer of the play.

Anna Kasyan, an Armenian opera singer (soprano) living in France has been invited to act as Micaela.

Also, Cosi fan tutte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be on at the Perm Opera Sept. 24 to Sept. 28. Anna Kasyan will act as both Despina and Fiordiligi.
