3D tango on Armenian stage

A new three-dimensional tango by British dancing master Billy Cowie is going to be staged in Armenia as part of the international theatrical festival HayFest.

Tango de Soledad (Tango of Solitude) is a five-minute solo dance that will be performed at the Yerevan Puppet Theatre from October 2 to 8.

The sponsor of the initiative is the British Council.

The 3D images of the tango put the life-sized dancer into the space in front of the audience, making it feel closer to the images on the screen.

"[They are] unique, lyrical, picturesque and attractive … Billy Cowie's romantic phantasy makes a deep impression on me," said Mikhail Barishnikov, a ballet master.

The British Council is also launching the Proto Type theatre's Third Person: Bonnie & Clyde (D) in the frameworks of the festival.

The performance will be staged at the National State Theatre on October 7 and 8.

Third Person: Bonnie & Clyde is a multimedia performance teling about the criminal life and love story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. It offers a rich plot and up-to-date multimedia designs and devices.
