Sergei Parajanov museum must be opened in Kiev – Ukrainian writer

In an interview with the Ukraine-based Den' (Day) newspaper, the renowned Ukrainian writer and public figure Ivan Drach spoke in favor of opening the Sergei Parajanov museum in Kiev.

"I have repeatedly said that at least two or three large museums - Aleksandr Dovzhenko, Les Kurbas and Sergei Parajanov – must be created in Kiev, for people visiting our capital to know they must visit this museum.

The renowned film director Sergei Parajanov lived the best years of his creative life in Kiev. In 1964, Sergei Parajanov shot the film Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (renamed Wild Horses of Fire for most foreign distributions). That film made Ukrainian cinema world-famous.
