British Council launches new prize for Golden Apricot Film Festival

The British Council has announced a new special prize to mark the 10th anniversary of its collaboration with the Yerevan-hosted annual film festival, Golden Apricot.

The winner of the prize - New Festival Name - will be offered a chance to participate in the 21st Sheffield Doc/Fest event in the United Kingdom, reports the Council’s press service.

Sheffield Doc/Fest is an acclaimed documentary film festival which annually brings together the best representatives of the sphere to discuss and introduce the new achievement of the past year.

Additionally, the Council has prepared another surprise. The editor of the authoritative British cinema publication, Sight & Soundm, is arriving in Yerevan as part of the festival.

The Guardian, The Observer, The Independent, The London Review of Books and The Literary Review have devoted articles to the event.
