Armenian actor speak of society’s disappointment and his ‘naïve hopes’

Armenia’s society was largely disappointed following the post-election processes, while the smaller part started seeking the ways out of the situation, the satirist Vardan Petrosyan told journalists on Monday as he commented on the post-election rallies organized by one of the ex-presidential candidates, Heritage party Chairman Raffi Hovannisian.
 
“The greater part of Armenia’s society is disappointed, and we can see the result – the large-scale emigration we actually expected. I thing that the real figures are even higher than expected,” he said.

He said he must have been naïve to think that the political forces would use the period between the presidential election and the presidential inauguration for uniting.

“I had hopes, indeed. But why they failed, it is their problem. The Yerevan municipal elections were nearing, but on April 25 all the opposition forces began insulting each other. I thought quite the opposite was to happen,” he said.

As to what Raffi Hovannisian’s mistake is, Petrosyan said that it is political analysts’ business.
