Yerevan libraries enriched with new books

New editions of books are being supplied to the libraries and art schools of Yerevan thanks to the municipality’s decision to enrich the capital's literary fund.

According to a press release by the City Hall, 193 new editions (a total of 8,900 books) have been donated to different libraries, as well as music and art school.

The decision was made in an effort to fulfill Mayor Taron Margaryan’s promise to make the World Book 2013 Capital events on-going, Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan has said.

“The municipality continues keeping the libraries and the library problems under spotlight today, focusing also on the enrichment of the literary fund. I have the pleasure to note that our libraries receive the necessary literature these days,” he said.

The new collection comprises professional literature and fiction, reproductions of the world classics, as well as well as contemporary literature, albums and historical books.

The municipality provides the libraries with books based on an agreement with the Ministry of Culture and the Book and Publishing Center.
