Turkish government decides to protect Armenian church, but –

Yılmaz Yamaç, owner of the Paşvask church in the village of Tokaçlı – which church has been turned into stables – has repeatedly applied to the government and got an answer at last.
 
The government has decided to protect the church as cultural heritage. However, Yamaç notes that the government is not taking any practical steps, http://www.agos.com.tr reports.

As far back as last year he applied to the Ministry of Culture and he demands now that the government take practical steps. Although used as stables, the church has not lost its grandeur.

“When children we used to play there. Now that I visit our village I see tourists showing interest in it. They are rightly asking us with indignation, ‘Do you keep cattle in your mosques?’ I am ready to hand the certificate of title over to the Armenian community. Such a beautiful monument must not be lost,” said Yamaç.
